I’ve had this red light therapy mat for about 10-11 weeks now and have been using it regularly, about 3-4 times a week, lying face up for about 10 to 15 minutes and face down for another 10 to 15 minutes. I bought this mat to help repair the cells, increase blood flow to the cells, reduce inflammation and body pain, etc. You don’t have to take my word for it. Do your own research. More and more scientific studies have shown the health benefits of infrared red light therapy.So, over this past year I’ve been experiencing mild bladder infection on and off. Not so bad that I need to see a doctor for antibiotics but uncomfortable enough that I have to take over the counter drugs to relieve the horrible feeling of urgency. I know this is caused in part by me holding my bladder in for a long period of time before relief. Anyways, I wanted to see if the red light therapy would help prevent the bladder issue from returning. I had another bout of mild bladder infection shortly after I purchased this mat. So I lay face down on the red light therapy mat for about 30 minutes at P5 the maximum intensity. I did this for about 6 days in a row and the following week, about 4 or 5 times. Well what do you know, I’ve not had any bladder issues and it’s been about 2 months since my last one. Now, I am not saying the red light therapy completely cured the bladder issue. But I strongly believe it helped because it increased blood flow to the bladder and helped reduce inflammation. If you do have health issues and are unsure of this mat, please, please consult with your doctor first.Now as to the quality of this product, it was securely packaged in a box. Mine appeared to be brand new, never used and not a returned item. I think for the first minute I couldn’t find instructions on how to plug everything together so I simply looked at the pictures on the Amazon listing and figured it out in an instant. Very easy, really. The control buttons are also easy to use. One set of arrow buttons controls the timing in 10 minute increments, up to 90 minutes max; another set of arrow buttons controls the intensity from P1 the lowest, to P5 the highest. I usually set mine between P3 to P4, sometimes P5. The mat I purchased is the XXXXL one. I’m 5’4″ normal weight and fit comfortably on the mat with plenty of room to spare. I like that there’s a thick, durable clear plastic that covers the lights so that I can periodically wipe the mat clean as necessary. Someone said in their review that the plug or mechanism was loose so that the lights stopped working. I did not have this issue at all. But I keep mine plugged into the wall all the time. When I don’t use it I just roll it up and prop it up against the wall.And one last thing about this mat. The wavelength available is 660 nanometers (nm) to 850 nm at the max. Here’s a quick overview of red light therapy wavelengths (based on my research; I’m not a healthcare professional or a scientist): shorter wavelengths like 630 nm is sufficient to address wrinkles; 660 nm penetrate the skin and tissues and good for collagen production and mild joint pain; 850 nm penetrate deep tissues and is ideal for muscle injuries, arthritis, wound healing, and other deep pain. I like that this mat offers a range of 660 to 850 nm.I know, this is a pricey item, not cheap at all. But look at it this way: it’s an investment in your health. Aren’t you so worth it??? This is amazing!It works and has helped heal my injury on my lower leg where I had a deep function wound.I use the full light for 30mins and I will say it’s a relaxing time to just sit!It’s also helped w the effects of this injury that went down my leg towards the ankle .I got the 12” one so I could use it on y back shoulder etc .My daughter has the shorter one uses it on her torn Achilles.It’s keeper ! Working so far
My elderly dog has very bad hips and has trouble walking. I bought this because i thought it may help. Well i am not sure if it was this light therapy or luck or something else but she was able to walk up the steps for the first time in ten days after just the first light therapy session. I am going to definitely keep using this product for sure.
