    Upgrade your sleep.
This works great, has loads of features and the company has good vids on YouTube if you need help. One of the brightest on the market, and one if the few that lets you choose how long the light takes to go from 0 to max.

    No alarm sound required
Got this to help wake me up in the dark winter mornings. I really wanted a light alarm that absolutley didnt have sound. The brightness is nice and slowly gets you awake, but I am not a morning person. Luckily for me, it certainly works on my dog. Like a dual alarm system, she gets woken up and then begins pouncing, rolling, and laying on me.The functionality of the clock is OK. I was able to work out most of the features but it is a little clunky to set up. The clock is only in military time which is frustrating as an American and there isnt a way to just turn the light off (that I could find). Overall I do recommend this clock. Especially if you opt into the puppy pounce expansion.

Years of research lead me to this
I’ve spent years researching different sunrise alarm clocks after purchasing one that was awful. I researched the Philip’s alarm but ended up going with Lumie because of the warranty (Philip’s has no backup battery and you can’t replace the bulb if it burns out). I was hesitant with the bad reviews on this alarm because people said it was extremely difficult to set up. I’m 24 and grew up with very simple alarm clocks so I can understand the simplicity of older clocks. This clock is very easy to set up if you take 3 minutes to read the directions. I was actually pretty angry knowing I spent so much time researching the set up issues people complained about just to receive the clock and follow very simple instructions to set it up. I had no issues. I’m assuming the people who are complaining about the set up either 1. Refuse to accept that clocks have a few extra sets nowadays (ya know, considering it has so many features unlike clocks 10/20 years ago) and adapt to new technology, which is fine, but don’t advertise that it is difficult or impossible to set up just because you refuse to accept it takes a few extra minutes. 2. They didn’t take 3 minutes to read the instructions to understand how to set it up and likely tried to do it without even opening the instructions which would obviously be hard since there’s too many features to simply use 2 buttons. It seems like there is a lazy generational gap here.If you are interested in this clock, please do not base your purchase off of the negative reviews regarding set it. My parents are in their 70s, one has never even owned a phone let alone knows how to upload photos onto the computer but they are both able to set the entire clock up in under 3 minutes. It really isn’t difficult. The instructions are right there and there is a YouTube video for people who are visual learners. This is an excellent alarm and well worth the money. I feel refreshed when I wake up instead of being jolted out of bed with my heart racing and nauseated because of it. I’m a night owl and this has completely transformed my mornings and has helped me start my day off on the best note. I couldn’t recommend this enough.

PRETTY PLUS A HASSLE FOR TIRED BRAIN
Light is gorgeous. Setting this thing is a hassle–was a simpler version. I’m not using it because it’s taking too much time to learn. The sounds and lighting are terrific though.

    Returned; only shows military time
Very disappointed. Confirmed with Lumie that this clock ONLY shows 24 hour (military) time; no option to change it to 12-hour time. Returned.

Gentle wake up, new best friend
I have had my dear Lumie for a little over a week and I adore it. It is my first sunrise clock so I cannot compare it to other models.I wanted a sunrise clock for the following reasons:1. To keep my phone away from my bed, which I was using for the alarm.2. To have an alarm that would not wake anyone else up.Lumie has helped me accomplish both. I chose this clock over others because I wanted the display completely dark at night, I wanted to be able to have just the light without the sound, and it has the sunset function which I didn’t even know I wanted but I love it. It is the cue I need to put my book down and fall asleep. The gradually bright light in the morning wakes me up gently and it really makes a difference in how I feel when I wake up. It does not need to be connected to a phone which is also important to me.Thanks to other reviewers I knew to set aside some time to set up, and maybe because I knew setup could be tedious ahead of time I did not find it difficult or frustrating. I followed the instructions step by step and had no problem setting it up in about 10 minutes. The only issue I had is that I needed to turn the light on once in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and I read that you can push any of the buttons to turn on the light. So I pushed whichever button my finger landed on, which was unfortunately the alarm button, and I turned my alarm off for the next morning. You also don’t want to push the radio button in the middle of the night for obvious reasons. Lesson learned and now you know too.I’ve already recommended this clock to friends and family. Lumie and I look forward to many happy years together <3

    VERY good product!
It’s pretty easy to use, the instructions are in English-English and clear to understand, and it is very functional. I and my spouse are both happy.I’ve been using dawn simulator lights for +25 years and sadly the makers of my previous version went out of business. When I looked around for a replacement I found this one, and it definitely does the job. I just wish the display were larger, I have to fish for my reading glasses to make changes. AND I wish the sunrise sound would fade in along with the light, instead of switching on abruptly.RECOMMENDED.

Beaucoup de fonctionnalités, fiable.Le bruit des oiseaux est superbe.

Alarm works well. It’s bright enough to wake me up ahead of the alarm actually going off. If you read the manual, setting up the clock is easy, despite what other reviews say. The 24 hour format is appreciated.

It works and the sound options are decent (I especially like falling asleep to the crickets). The sunrise light gradually gets brighter not just lighter so it better matches the sunrise it’s supposed to mimic, making waking up easier. However, there’s no way to replace the light when it inevitably dies and it only comes with a 30 minute back-up rechargeable battery (also not replaceable) so if the power goes out for hours you’re out of luck. Considering how expensive it is, these are issues that really shouldn’t exist in the product.

  12. Unimpressed from Canada

Lumie have managed to create an alarm clock with a fancy tap snooze sensor (on the lamp) which functions so poorly that after repeatedly hitting the lamp you will have woken up (annoyed and agitated!) defeating the object of snooze. The button position on the face of the clock means you are pushing horizontally and the feet do not grip sufficiently to prevent pushing the clock off your bedside surface – which is probably the best option for this clock.

  13. Natalie

Very cool clock. Not easy to use at first but if you take the time to understand the buttons, it will be well worth it. The sunset mode is really cool and quick to activate, plus the ambient sounds are plentiful and very calming
