The InVarme infrared heating pad turned out to be a pretty solid addition to the house, especially since it’s big enough to cover major muscle groups and deliver heat where you actually need it. That was one of the main things I was hoping for when I picked it up, since my restless leg syndrome tends to flare up at night and I needed something that could provide focused warmth without having to constantly reposition it. For that alone, it’s already been helping more than I expected. The product listing online is definitely a little flashy with all its highlighted features and visuals, but at the end of the day it’s just a respectable, straightforward heating pad that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Nothing over the top, nothing fancy you’ll never use, just reliable heat that feels soothing right away.The material itself is nicer than I thought it would be, soft to the touch and not irritating on the skin even when I use it for longer sessions. Some heating pads have that cheap synthetic feel that gets uncomfortable, but this one actually feels like a cozy blanket. The built-in controller is easy to get used to, with multiple heat levels you can switch between depending on how intense you want the warmth to be. I found myself sticking with the mid-range settings most of the time, but having the option to bump it up or tone it down is helpful. It heats up fairly quickly too, so you’re not stuck waiting for it to get warm when you’re already uncomfortable.What’s funny is that I haven’t had as much time with it lately because my daughter basically took it over for her post dance practice recovery. She deals with muscle tightness and joint pain after long sessions at the studio, and her coaches always recommend heat over cold therapy. With that in mind, this pad ended up being exactly what she needed. She says it helps loosen everything up faster, especially when she pairs it with stretching afterward, and she’s been using it enough that I’m starting to wonder if I should grab a second one just to have my own again. For what it costs, it’s turning into a surprisingly good investment for the both of us.As with anything that gets used this often, the real test will be how well it holds up over time. So far everything seems durable enough, the stitching looks fine, and the controller doesn’t feel flimsy, but we’ll see how it fares with constant daily use. For now, though, it delivers reliable heat, feels good on the skin, and actually helps with the pain relief we bought it for. That alone makes it worth recommending.

I just opened up this new InVarme far infrared heating pad and plugged it in to try it out. I turned it up to its maximum heat, though I typically use heating pads at their lowest settings. It’s warming up quickly and feels really good on my lower back.My husband and I use heating pads every day, now that we’re in our 70s and both have the typical aches and pains that come with age. We each have one on our recliners and also in bed. I’ve come to enjoy the relaxing feeling of that warmth, not just in winter but all year round.I was interested in this heating pad because it’s far infrared, which is supposed to penetrate deeper into the skin tissue for better pain relief and because it promotes better circulation. I’m a believer in infrared treatment, because I use infrared lights to treat my peripheral neuropathy in my feet. I can see myself placing this pad on the floor and warming my feet with it while I watch TV in the evening.It’s been about 10 minutes, and this heating pad is plenty hot. Not uncomfortably hot, but warm enough to really ease muscle and joint pain.There are 8 different levels of heat and a timer that can be set at 15 minute intervals with a maximum of 4 hours.One side has the graphine patterned fabric, which I believe is supposed to be the side you use against your body. The other side is a very soft black velvet like material. This is far superior to my old heating pads made of vinyl with cloth covers that stiffen up when they cool off.One feature I like about this heating pad is that if you accidentally manage to pull the pad loose from the cord (which isn’t very likely since it is quite tight), the cord does not “fault out” like the cheaper heating pads do. With the others, you actually have to plug the pad back in and then unplug the cord from the wall outlet and then plug it back in. That can be really inconvenient if your wall outlet is down behind your bed or behind your couch or recliner. Believe me, I know. With this one, you can just plug the pad back into the cord. This may not seem like a big deal, but I consider it a huge plus.This pad is washable after disconnecting it from the power cord. Wash in cold water in a laundry bag on gentle cycle or by hand. Dry on low heat or air dry. Allow to completely dry before reattaching the cord.It works great and is a very nice product.
