Shockingly good, and all-natural!
This organic roasted cashew butter is delicious and perfectly creamy. I hadn’t tried cashew butter before and had a preconceived notion that it would taste like dirt. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty it is. This organic cashew butter is made in micro-batches and formulated without added oil or salt. I appreciate that only ingredient being organic roasted cashews – which is how our food should be (no artificial ingredients or unnecessary preservatives). It comes in a glass jar with 8 ounces of creamy, spreadable butter. I’ve used this on toast and added it to oatmeal and baked goods, but it’s also good right out of the jar. I would definitely recommend!

Roasted, delicious flavor
This cashew butter is amazing! I enjoy peanut, macadamia, hazelnut, etc butterscotch but had never tried cashew. It will definitely be a staple in my pantry from now on. This is an extremely smooth and spreadable texture. It is (very) slightly oily, in a good way. It would be delicious used in all ways you might typically enjoy peanut butter. I can’t wait to add it to Thai peanut sauce and in addition to peanut butter in homemade buckeyes for the holidays! It has a roasted nutty flavor. Most natural nut butters have a thick coating of oil on the top but this one barely needs stirred. Five stars

Tasty! Small batch made so no inner safety seal?
When I got the chance to try this Wilderness Poets Organic Roasted Cashew Butter I hesitated. I hesitated because some years ago I got really ill. I was ill for nearly a year. Because I was ill for such a long time I had to try to figure out what was happening to me. As I researched health conditions I learned that my food choices were extremely poor. Back then I ate mostly popcorn with lots of margarine and lots of salt and salty ramen soup.Before I learned that my months of illness had been caused by super high blood pressure, I learned that in order to improve my health I was going to need to improve my diet.As time went by and I learned more about how important good nutrition is to human health, I decided that eliminating wheat from, and then eating a low carb diet, was the best choice for me.On the road to improving my diet cashews were kicked off of my list of allowed foods. This happened some years ago so as I debated with myself about whether or not I should order this cashew butter I was trying hard to remember why cashews got kicked off my list of allowed foods. All that I could remember was something about cashews not being real nuts.What I thought I remembered reading was that cashews were members of the bean family. If that was true and cashews were members of the bean family then I thought that this cashew butter must be high in carbs. I confess. I do sometimes fall off of the low carb diet wagon. Because of that I don’t really need to discover another food that I like besides popcorn that is high in carbs.But then, I read the nutrition label. It said that 2 tablespoons of this cashew butters contains 2% of the recommended daily allowance of carbs. That seemed decently low to me so I went ahead and ordered it.I just looked up the recommended daily carbohydrate intake of an adult human. The range is 225-325 grams per day. Taking the high end of that range 2% equals 6.5 grams of carbs per 2 tablespoons of this cashew butter. I think that 6.5 grams is a reasonable amount of carbs to eat on my low carb diet.I had to look up what a cashew was and I learned that it is actually a fruit.This cashew butter is really tasty. I had not eaten cashews in years. I had almost forgotten what they tasted like. This cashew butter has reminded me what cashews taste like.This cashew butter is very smooth. It’s very creamy. The oil will separate and sit on the top so this cashew butter will need a good stir the first time you open it.I decided to keep my cashew butter in the refrigerator. The oil still wants to separate a little bit. Even when it’s chilled a tiny bit of oil sits on the top of this cashew butter and it will need a little stir. The good news is that when chilled in the fridge this cashew butter stays smooth and creamy. It does not harden. I should put a disclaimer here that my fridge is old and might not be as cold as other newer fridges.This cashew butter does not come with an inner safety seal. I assume that is because it’s made in small batches and not in a huge factory. It did arrive with a large clear tape over the opening flap of the cute box that it’s in. It did have a cute little strip of paper tape over the edges of the jar lid and the jar.When I opened the jar I have to admit that it was a shock not to see an inner safety seal.I don’t like myself for doing it but, because it lacked an inner safety seal, I am going to deduct one star from my rating of this Wilderness Poets Organic Roasted Cashew Butter.I would add that this cashew butter is perfectly fine. It tastes great. I know all of the reasons why it didn’t have an inner safety seal, and I know that all of those reasons make perfectly good sense and yet for some reason, I still want to see an inner safety seal on this cashew butter.Four stars.
