Still a Fan, But This Batch Needs Attention
I’ve been using OWYN Pro Elite Vegan Protein (Dark Chocolate) consistently since December 2024 and have been very happy with it. The flavor is great, it mixes well, and I love that it’s plant-based with zero sugar. I’ve recommended it to several people and even shared some with a friend who’s into fitness—he was instantly hooked.However, the most recent batch I received (June 2025) had a noticeable change. Both containers had a strong yeast-like odor and the shake was much foamier than usual. I tested each one multiple times, and the result was consistent. I’m not a chemist, but it feels like there may have been too much probiotics added by accident.To Amazon’s credit, they issued a refund promptly, but I do think this particular batch should be tested or recalled. It’s clearly different from what I’ve received in the past.That said, I’m still a fan of OWYN and plan to continue using it once this batch cycles out. I just hope the company looks into this quality issue and ensures it was a one-time slip.

Great quality!
This is one of the best for flavor, quality of smoothness, and better for pricing protein powders out there! The only reason why 4/5 stars is because I’m not super thrilled about the added fortifications (only because I need methylated vitamins and the) and since it’s OWYN I think it could be omitted 🙃. Otherwise it’s amazing!

Good and light meal replacement
It does have a distinct after taste to me, but it is plant based not like the rest with additives. I have it in the mornings or take it with me to mix as a lunch replacement. Good to have.

Simple and effective! I use this and the garden of life meal replacement together in one smoothie when doing OMAD diet. I add MCT oil water and avocado. I do this 5 days in a row once a month and I have lost significant weight without muscle wasting. So far I have lost 66lbs! I use the vanilla and the OWYN chocolate powder during the rest of the month with added healthy fats olive oil,mct oil,avocado. I practice clean keto during the rest of the month with a 4 hour eating window Monday thru Friday and 6 hr window on weekends! The texture is good flavor is good I add cinnamon to the vanilla just to change things up. I can go the distance a this protein powder. I use the 30 gram protein and find fasting an easier. I highly recommend! I find the taste pleasant both for the chocolate and the vanilla.

Macros might be inaccurate
This is supposed to be low sugar, good for keto/diabetics and only 5g. While my 11 yr old diabetic son has little to no carb breakfasts to not set his sugar spiking all day, we have noticed the last 2 months on this he has consistently been spiking before snack time. All he has is some combination or eggs, bacon, sausage, avocado etc and this protein shake with unsweetened almond milk. Why the spike? The ingredients seem very clean and this aligns with the Marcos we are looking for. Is it accurate? Is this company being truthful? Taste is decent enough for the macros but I don’t think we trust them anymore and are going to switch to a new brand.

Good stuff
nice light consistency. I still haven’t figured out how to get it out with the scoop and not get it all over my counter. ha! taste is ok. i appreciate that it is not sweet… low carb. mixes well in shaker cup. I mix it with my coffee in the morning and with unsweetened almond milk in the evening. trying to get enough protein in while doing keto and GLP-1.

High protein content bad chocolate taste
I bought this cause it gad 30g of protien, low on carbs, no bad ingredients, and very good price.But after trying this and another brand in chocolate falvor, I can say that plant based proteins taste bad in chocolate and good in vanilla. I will give the Vanilla try and see. For now am going to hate it every time I drink it. Thank God I only need to drink it during fasting days!
