Perfect Resource for Teens (and Everyone!)
As a high school teacher, I see many young people struggling with anxiety–from applying to college, to changing friendships, to worries about grades and achievements in sports, the arts, etc… There is a lot on their shoulders. They also are at an age where they are looking to be independent and work through some of their anxieties in their own way. They want tools to reflect and problem-solve on their own. This book is an invaluable resource for this age group, particularly. (I also have given it to many of my adult friends and family!) It is a beautiful book that is a pleasure to hold and write in (like any good journal!). It is also witty and smart. It is very organized and would encourage a busy teenager to dip in and write when she/he has even a small amount of time to try to work through some of the stressful emotions. I cannot recommend this book more highly!!

Every School District Should be Buying this Book
Oddly enough I found this book on LinkedIn when job hunting for jobs in human research protections jobs. I thought the price point made it an easy risk to take. WHOA! The book is fantastic! As a researcher myself, I am always scouring books, reading papers, reviewing research. We all know how anxiety has made a difference in the lives of our teens. This practical – down to nuts and bolts ‘workbook’- was immediately being worked on by my teen aged daughter. The practical advice about how how to look at things in a different way, layout of the book, the size of it – all so thoughtful. This is a win win for any parent/school teacher/advisor/caregiver/grandparent for the teen/young adult (my 50 year old sister want one too!) that would be willing to write (or at least think about what is bothering them). Schools should be handing these out to all teens like they do any other required book/agenda planner for the year. Thank you for a thoughtful pragmatic resource! Please write more for all ages:)

    Fantastic Resource for Anxiety Management!
Dr. Bacow’s “Goodbye Anxiety” is a phenomenal resource for individuals struggling with understanding and managing their own anxiety. First, the book is really beautiful, and is a lovely compilation between education and open ended journal sections. It is very user friendly, engaging, and really promotes self-discovery in a structured manner. As a psychiatrist, I love recommending this journal for college and graduate students who I work with who are looking for practical ways they can work on and understand their anxiety outside of sessions. Goodbye Anxiety is so well done and I cannot recommend it enough!

I enjoyed this journal. It definitely made me take a step back and look at my anxiety in different ways.

    Great starter journal
I bought this as a gift. It has really great information and insight into everyday anxiety and how to cope. Everyone should have one!

    Mental Health Practitioner Review
I originally purchased this workbook to help my clients that are diagnosed with anxiety. After the first few sessions working with it and seeing the response my clients had, I knew it was a great book. I love how modern it is, including references to pop culture in the titles and referring to social media platforms such as Snapchat and Instagram. During one of my later sessions, I actually decided to order another one just for myself. The questions and exercises used throughout the workbook are fun and engaging, and I would like to see how the workbook can help me as well!

Full of useful insights and strategies
This book is so badly needed. The author combines her deep knowledge with true warmth and compassion and channels it into concrete, actionable strategies for changing thinking patterns and developing healthy mental habits. Her book would make a wonderful gift for teens, young adults, or really anyone who could benefit from some practical coping skills in this nutty, anxiety-provoking world of ours (hand raised)!

  8. L.S.

    Great for journaling about anxiety.
Walks you through how to identify your anxious thoughts and how to replace them with more useful thoughts and behaviors. Very helpful and simultaneously very easy to read with pop references sprinkled in. I would definitely recommend for anxious teens/young adults, but even with all my grey hairs (and even if I didn’t get every reference), I still found it very useful!
