Very dangerous.
I originally purchased for my 9 year old. I ended up keeping it for myself, mainly because it is dangerous. But even with that, its just bad overall.It is too small for a teen and up. The charging port is magnetic which means another charging cable to add. It is very difficult to get it to charge properly, to align it correctly. The charge itself lasts 2, maybe 3 days and that’s without trying to cycle the uv manually. It won’t even make it 1.5 days if you do that. To turn on a manual cycle you hold your hand or finger anywhere over the cap, for a few seconds and it starts. Its so bad, I didnt even bother trying to figure out how or if you could change from C to F, nor am I going to to because im just using it in the fridge, take a drink, fill it back up and put it back in the fridge. Thats all its really good for.I own two other uv bottles. Battery life is about 2 to 3 weeks. They aren’t huge, 20 oz. Which is perfect for me because stainless bottles are heavy, so i didnt think the size would be too important, except it is slightly smaller physically that my larger ones. Turns out size matters.The dangerous part. If the cap is removed on my other uv bottles, the uv light stops. For safety reasons. Not on this one. I can just see a child run around flashing the light at kids or themselves, inadvertently or intentionally. I have done it myself accidentally. The cap does not need to be on the bottle to activate the uv light either and it does not have be turned a certain way. It will simply activate while you are holding it in your hand, upside down, while refilling the bottle.The only plus is that it vibrates, so at least you are aware you just turned on the UV.Do not buy these. They should be recalled

The VSITOO bottle boasts solid construction and features two innovations not found in ordinary bottles: a built-in thermometer and a disinfecting mode. The disinfection cycle activates a small LED at the bottom of the screw cap, which emits UV-C light. This process takes less than two minutes, with a timer on top of the cap counting down from 100 to 0. After the cycle, your water is clean—or at least much cleaner—as the UV-C light disrupts the DNA of bacteria and other microorganisms, preventing them from reproducing and causing harm.To maximize the effectiveness of disinfection, it is recommended to gently rotate or swirl the bottle while the cycle runs. Keep in mind that if you tilt the bottle to approximately 45°, the light will stop and resume only when you return the bottle to a near-vertical position. Swirling the bottle is helpful because, otherwise, most disinfection occurs in the upper part of the water column, while water at the bottom receives less exposure to the UV-C light. Note that UV radiation does not affect chemical impurities, should any be present in the water.Also remember that UV-C light can be harmful to your eyes and potentially to your skin. Some well-designed UV-C bottle caps include a safety feature that automatically turns off the light if the cap is removed, specifically to prevent accidental exposure. The VSITOO cap, however, allows the light to run even when the cap is off. As the St. Petersburg Times might say—don’t try this at home.I won’t comment on the practicality or accuracy of the thermometer, as I find this feature unimportant.The bottle is IPX7 rated, meaning it can be submerged in up to 3.3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes without suffering any water ingress. Magnetic charging complements this ingress protection. IPX7 also means the device has not been tested for protection against dust or small particles. Still, the bottle feels very well built, and I believe it could withstand being dropped in sand without consequence.I did not try the bottle with hot drinks, but I am very impressed with how well it keeps cold water cold.The manufacturer claims the battery can last “for 30 days on a full charge.” I am skeptical of this claim, but since I’ve only had the bottle for three days, I can’t make a definitive statement.The manual is adequate, but could be improved. It references an “APP,” presumably meaning a mobile application, but only the VSITOO S1 Pro supposedly works with an app—which, by the way, is nowhere to be found. Just disregard this part.The company offers a one-year warranty on this product, and the manual provides the company’s website, email, and other contact details you may need if you encounter a problem. This is excellent.All things considered, this product deserves a solid four-star rating.
