I picked up the BOB AND BRAD Zero Pro eye massager and it’s now a fixed part of my nightly wind-down. After a full day on the computer, my eyes feel tight and overworked; this eases the strain fast. The gentle air compression has a rhythmic squeeze-and-release that relaxes my brow and temples without feeling gimmicky. The heat setting is warm – not sweaty – and helps with that dry, sandpaper eyelid feeling I get from screens. Cooling is a nice option when my eyes feel puffy; swapping modes is quick and doesn’t kill the vibe. I use it during my turn-down routine – phone off, lights low, massager on – and it reliably flips my brain from “work” to “sleep.” The fit is comfortable and secure, with a strap that doesn’t slip or dig in. It’s quiet enough that it doesn’t break the calm or annoy anyone else in the room. The controls are straightforward, so I’m not fiddling around and losing the relaxation I just gained. After a session, the tension around my eyes and forehead is noticeably lower, and I fall asleep faster because I’m not dealing with twitchy, tired eyes. Adding a star for quality customer service.After unboxing the eye massager, I immediately noticed how sleek and small it seemed compared to the other eye massager I purchased. The cushion did not seem very thick, but the scroll button was cool. Not going to lie, I was nervous to try because I didn’t know what to expect, but excited to try something new. I must say this model does seem like a quality product.I found that this unit comes with a hard storage case. This is awesome, as I travel a lot and will be extremely useful in protecting it from damage. The massager also charged fairly quickly.First use, I found the navigation was very easy with the scroll button. After playing around with the settings, I found I was easily able to change them due to the scroller. One of the first things I noticed after turning the eye massager on was a very heavy pressure on the bridge of my nose. I don’t have a large nose or face, and this was very painful. I constantly tried to adjust it to get a better fit. The band that goes around your head is very easy to adjust, and you just have to play around with it to get a perfect fit.The built-in music or sounds were ok, nothing spectacular. I did notice the sound quality was far superior on this model compared to another unit I purchased. I also noticed that this unit is extremely quiet. At just 35dB, you can fall asleep wearing this. The other product I tried was not this quiet; the more I use it, the more noticeable it becomes.Both massagers traveled with me on multiple trips. They stay at my bedside at home since I use them most nights before bed. I have found that I prefer no sound while I am wearing the unit. I have tried wearing it while sitting up and lying down; either way works, and I don’t notice a huge difference in position. I will say that at first I did not notice a huge difference in the weight of this massager as compared to the other one. The more I use this massager, the more I notice the weight difference. It doesn’t feel as bulky and heavy as compared to the other unit. This product weighs in at only 0.6lbs.Here are some Pros and Cons that I have noticed after multiple days of using this product:Pros:-Light weight-Great heat settings. Seems more powerful than others.-Easy to adjust the head strap-Easy to change between settings. The scroll button is smooth and easy to navigate.-Great sound quality-Extremely quiet. I can fall asleep wearing this.-Feels like a quality product-Hard case storage included. The other unit came with a bag.-Average charging time required.-USB-C charging cable-Good battery life as compared to other products.-FSA/HSA eligible purchase.Cons:-Missing basic features such as:-Ability to just massage temples or eyes only-Voice command, though I could argue that the scrolling is so easy, this may not be needed.-Very uncomfortable on the bridge of your nose.-Takes lots of adjusting to get the placement just right.-A loud voice tells you “Goodbye” after the massage is complete. This aggravates me so much because I normally fall asleep, and then this wakes me up.-Pressure seems to be heavier under the eyes vs on top of the eyes or brow. I would much prefer heavier pressure in the eyebrow area versus under the eyes, as I suffer from allergies and congestion.-The temple massage does not seem to be far enough out. This could just be my face, but as I previously stated, I don’t have a large face, and the temple massage isn’t exactly over my temples and closer to the outside corner of my orbital bone.-It could be small for people with larger heads or faces.-Bluetooth music stops playing when the massager is finished. There should be a setting that allows your music to continue until you turn the unit off.Conclusion:I think the Bob & Brad Zero Pro Eye Massager is a strong contender in the eye massager market. I tend to reach for it more than the other product I tried. I do feel that Bob & Brad dropped the ball on this product. They had multiple versions to get it right and still fell short. You would think that being able to only massage temples or eyes would be a pretty basic feature.Also, their website says it is “Ultra-Quiet Relaxation,” while this may be true, it basically throws that out the window when you are jolted awake by a voice telling you goodbye. I feel this is completely unnecessary; anyone can guess the massager is off when it stops or the music turns off. Which brings me to my next issue regarding the Bluetooth capabilities.Once the unit has completed the massage session, it turns the entire unit off, which means your music turns off also. I would love to listen to an audiobook or at least finish my song before it shuts off completely. There should be an override that, when you are Bluetoothed to the device, you manually turn the unit off to stop the sound.I have found that the heat makes my eyes seem to produce tears. It seems to be helping my dry eyes. It also makes the skin around my eyes smooth.Final Thoughts:Overall, this is definitely a product you should consider when you are in the market for an eye massager. Will I keep them? I’ll likely keep this eye massage as I think it is a quality product. When comparing it to the other product I tried, I did feel these stood out in other areas, even with the lack of basic features. I wish they would correct the basic issues and maybe offer a discount to repeat customers if this happens.I think this is a product that may not work for everyone, and that each person needs to make up their mind about it.
