    Easy, simple, helpful
    I was very pleased with this journal as it gives short, easy guidelines on how to use it and the daily pages are done well. I look forward to making it part of my morning/evening routines.The only thing I would add is it’d be great if it came with tabs to stick on the pages but I’ve got some leftover that I’ll use. Just a personal preference.

    Prompted not guided
    I often journal and am always on the lookout for guided journals to aid my personal journey, so I was happy to receive this Guided Anxiety Journal for Women & Men to review.The good… I like that there is a self-assessment at the beginning. I think any time you go into a practice like this, it’s a good idea to get a baseline for where you are, so that you can see the progress you’ve made. There is also a single-page grounding practice for those times “when anxiety feels overwhelming…” It is a reasonably good activity that could be helpful during high stress moments.At the top of each page there is a place for the date, and an option to circle the day of the week. Then each day (a two page spread) begins with a quote followed by a series of questions and activities. Each page finishes with a unique prompt.This is pretty typical fare in the world of prompted journals. Unfortunately, this one falls into the same trap that most of them do. I don’t know that I would call this a “Guided” journal as much as a prompted journal as each page is exactly the same (with the exception of the quote at the beginning and short prompt at the end). It’s pretty perfunctory and I’d question weather it would take someone very deep.At the end of the journal there is a confusing revisit of the self assessment page. I suspect the intention is for you to do another assessment to see if the journal has helped, however they didn’t edit the page to reflect that; rather, the assessment begins with “Before beginning your journey…” Sloppy editing? Too quick to publish? It’s not a huge thing, but still.The paper is decent, the woven fabric cover is well done, the binding is good. There is a pen loop, an elastic strap to hold the book closed, and a ribbon bookmark as well as a small pouch on the inside back cover where you could stash a few items. The quality of the book itself is nice. The content could be better, but overall it is fine. It’s nothing to write home about really, and for the price, I doubt I’d really recommend it or purchase it again. Four stars for the quality of the product. 3 stars for the quality of the contents.

    Best journal I’ve found for reframing triggers and thoughts.
    My therapist introduced me to the Cognitive Behavioral Triangle recently and it’s been really helpful reworking past events. I came to Amazon looking for a “neater” way to keep all these thoughts and reframes together so I can review them during our sessions and found this journal.It’s been amazing! While the wording is slightly different (but in a good way, honestly) it not only walks you through the process of redirecting or reframing a thought but it also provides you with grounding exercises on each page to get you into the right mood to do the work.I’m glad I found this and would recommend it to anyone.The pages are thick and the spine is made in a way that it opens flat for ease of writing. The cover is discreet and just looks like any regular journal so you can use it anywhere without people knowing what you’re working on.

    Really enjoying this journal!
    I really like the way this is set up. It aligns really well with the principles of CBT. Originally I planned to use it as a daily check in, but after using it for a few days, I think I might use it on days when I’m feeling more anxious or I have a clear episode of higher anxiety. I will see how I feel in a few more days. But regardless, I love the way it walks me through my experience and feelings, helps me challenge my thinking, and guides me to put my thoughts into a more positive, realistic, or compassionate perspective. And the quotes are a great addition.

    Nice quality, prompted journal.
    I gave this to my high school daughter who struggles with panic attacks. She said she likes it, but she hasn’t used it consistently enough to see much relief or improvement with her anxiety. The journal is well-made, featuring a durable cover and an elastic strap. The prompts are useful, though they can feel repetitive since every page in the journal is the same. I believe this journal could be beneficial for those who use it regularly to build habits that help manage their anxiety.
