Good protein source (warning)
Edit- can someone PLEASE HELP ME?? I bought like 3 bags of this and the first two were good and it tasted more substantial. Now this third bag I got looks thin? Like the powder is more thinner and even when shaking, it’s like thin. Taste like nothing, it’s mixing well yes, but it doesn’t taste like it used to. It has way more bubbles in it. I was wondering if the powder was not good. As if they didn’t add all the protein or it is simply due to their factory process. They may have just milled the powder finer, but still. I relay on this protein to add to my calories since in a bad eater and idk if this is cut or something. PLEASE HELP. I need to be getting my calories, but I don’t know if this is good. It might be more finely milled or I may have gotten a faulty bag. Please help!!!!!!I am lazy and don’t like to make food, so I just supplement with this as I eat food. It helps me feel full faster and it keeps me going. It is a bit hard to mix if you don’t do it right, I suggest you do water and then protein in top to get a better mix, but other than that it’s good. It was cheaper the first time I bought it and it keeps increasing price, which is disappointing. I think it increased by 8-10 dollars or so?? So annoying. But it’s a good protein source and it has 27 g of protein in each serving.EDIT- warning this has very high levels of lead. There is no specified limit as some trace amounts of heavy metals are normal in plant based products as their root mechanism takes heavy metals up. This would be normal in trace amount, but the consumer reports published their findings and lots of these have “concerning levels of lead”. Rice protein isn’t any better as it depends where it is grown. For example, arsenic would be a big worry for rice as it leaches into it when grown especially dependent on where it was grown. If it was grown in Texas it would be concerning as they used to grow cotton where they used pesticides that contain high levels of heavy metals, specifically arsenic. It is important for these companies to place a warning on their labels as these metals are especially bad. This one does have a warning so consume at your discretion. I am worried since I’ve been taking this for about 5-6 months and it is scary. I will try to find another brand that publishes or at least tests their stuff to make sure they are at least safe for consumption, as in they meet FDA (even better if they are meeting California guidelines) guidelines. They need to at least have a safe limit of consumption for us and idk if that’s going to happen. This is of high concern for me as it should be for others. It’s such a bummer because I truly do love this product but as with everything “no good deed goes unpunished”.

Clean pea protein for a good price
I think this is a great price for pea protein. I used this all the time for my smoothie and it blends well and never had a problem blending it into my smoothie. It has clean ingredients no artificial sweeteners. It has 27 grams of protein per 2 serving. The taste is okay it’s not the worst tasting pea protein. When I blended to my smoothies I don’t taste it at all.Overall I would recommend this protein for its clean ingredients and price.

Impurities
Makes anything you add it to too thick and clumps to the sides of containers. Also gave me loose stools and gas to the point of “leakage”. I’ve been eating a vegan diet for over 20 years so I know a single scoop of pea protein powder should not upset my system. Wondering about impurities. Throwing an almost full 5lb bag away.

high levels of lead?
Unfortunately, the day after return window closed, I read an article (consumer reports) noting that many plant based protein powders have high levels of lead and heavy metals. I noticed that on the product page for this powder, there’s a warning about this product (see the product pics). I reached out to the company asking for the details. They did not respond, so I have to assume the levels are unsafe, prompting the warning label.

Great alternative to whey
I have enjoyed using this protein powder. It is a bit different from other I’ve used though. If you want it to mix well it’s got to go through a blender. Shaker bottles leave it a bit clumpy. While it says unflavored, it does indeed have a pea flavor and texture that can be difficult for some people to eat by itself. Its flavor does blend well with organic cacao and other smoothie fruits.I feel I digest this pretty quickly without feeling bloated, constipated, or loose. I have found I eat less during a meal if I have a scoop before the meal which can be great for those looking to increase their protein intake and decrease their carb intake. The pea protein powders I have tried all taste very similar. If you haven’t tried pea protein before get a smaller bag first. This is a very large bag.One complaint I have is on the first bag I purchased the zipper failed and would no longer seal, so I had to fold it over and use a clip.

Mixability and taste are drawbacks compared to others
This pea protein powder does not mix as well others and it’s taste is not as neutral either.

Healthy, high protein low calories! Best for the money I’ve found.
I didn’t know much about Pea Protein, but after taking it for a few days, here is my take. This is unflavored and that worried me, but I was also concerned with sucrolose and the fact that there was none here, it seemed clean as can be so I ordered some. My worries were put aside very quickly because I soon realized after years of taking flavored protein, it’s incredibly simple to flavor your own. The protein is quite high for the low amount of calories so that is wonderful. Here are some tips to add flavor: 1. Dates (Yes, this pack a punch) 2. Cocoa (adds richness and mild chocolate flavor) 3. Blueberries 4. strawberries. Most importantly, Stevia because it has great dental benefits and is pretty much calorie-free. I was getting artificial flavored powders before, but now I’m thinking I should of gone clean sooner.Bottom line, and I’m not paid to say this- This is the best deal for protein powder right now and as long as they keep prices low I will continue to stay subscribed.
