Must have travel accessory
A must have travel accessory for me. It carries well in the cup holder of my backpack. Perfect for use in hotel room and also as a bolster pillow to use at my lower back while sitting in an airplane seat for hours. Don’t expect this to work like a full sized roller, because it just is not a full sized roller. But this compact size is perfect for those times when having a full size roller with me is just not feasible.

Very firm but light! Works well on most muscle groups, especially the legs. Overall a great roller. I use this for traveling when I am limited on space but need a roller. People always compliment the color. Has held up for a year so far with minimal damage.

As an athlete, having a foam roller is absolutely essential, and this one in particular really hit everything I needed in one. It is compact enough to throw in a backpack while traveling, and fulfills its purpose as a high quality foam roller. The ridges help me hit all the spots that I need to work and the firmness itself allows me to put more weight on the roller.The price was also quite affordable, and for the quality and transportability, Iv would say the purchase was definitely worth it. I also adore the color I purchased, leaning more on the pink side (something to keep in mind if you want the foam roller you are trying to purchase to be red).I think it is important to mention that when my teammate borrowed it and used it on her back, it did leave ridge-shaped marks on her back, which bruised slightly, only to disappear the next day (never happened to me). But she did mention it was because of how hard she pressed her body int the foam roller. It did help release the tension in her back, but just something to keep in mind.

This used for feet (plantar fasciitis) and got my physical therapist’s blessing. It works, but I took one star off because I really needed the length to be more than 11 inches. Rolling it (w/my feet/foot) means my foot travels to the end of the roller too quick so I have to reposition my foot/feet more often than I’d like.

This little thing is awesome
A friend of mine from Finland has been espousing the benefits of foam rolling to me for months and I finally gave in just to get her to stop talking about it. Skeptic that I am, I thought ok, give it a try, don’t expect anything and just say it didn’t work for you. I bought the little one (travel size) because it was cheaper and chose the yellow because it was noticeable and I thought I’d more likely see it and be reminded to use it. I have it sitting right by my home office desk. I was right on the yellow; I do see it, and so I’ve successfully noticed it. Step one complete! Last week I started to take little breaks and roll my hips which get tight from sitting. Sitting is the new smoking they say. I expected it to hurt. And it doesn’t hurt except in a really good way. My hips are loosening up, my lower back feel noticeably better, and now … well… I’m hooked on foam rolling. Listen to your Finnish friends. They know their way around self care. Now I want a sauna. Like that it’s made from recyclable material and is good for the planet. It’s firm but soft enough and the wavey sculpting is like a little extra massage. For the record, I’m not quite 5’9” and about 145lbs and I find the little one is fine, but if you wanted a more substantive roll or need more support for your lower back, the full size one might be better. But the little one is just fine and I figure that using it is moreover the benefit than the color or size or price. Amazingly I’m using it and this little thing is awesome. Highly recommend.

A very hard roller, which might be too intense or inappropriate for your needs
The foam and ridges on this roller are very hard and in flexible. Anyone who is used to the typical cylindrical Styrofoam roller is in for a serious jolt when they try this one. There may be some very specific applications for this, but I am only looking to work on large muscle and tendons in the leg (ITB, TFL, hamstrings, quads, glutes. Some people may use it under their back to roll along their spine. But again, I recommend showing it to a professional physical therapist first to see if it’s appropriate for the work you’re looking to achieve. I’m sending mine back. If there was a version that was a bit more flexible, I would consider the convenience of a shorter roller to take with me. But for now this is overkill for what I need.
