Solid science, beautiful design
I’m not usually open to anything related to alternative medicine. I worry about safety, and I also worry about getting scammed. I worry that once I open the door to anything less than mainstream, there’s no end to the possibilities. How can I sort through them all?But I made an exception for this light. First, it’s so non-intrusive—no safety concerns. Second, I’ve been following the research, and it’s really compelling. It started with dementia prevention, and now evidence that 40hz light promotes healthy sleep is pouring in. I’m talking about high-quality studies in prestigious journals.So I got one. As soon as I turned it on, I was relieved to see that the flickering is very gentle. You don’t even notice it in your peripheral vision. You can adjust the brightness to your comfort level. No one in the family minds having the light on in the corner of the living room.I’m also impressed with the design of this thing. The instructions are clear, but you don’t even need them because the controls are simple and intuitive. The buttons and dials click in a satisfying way.I don’t know if this light will stave off the dementia that runs in my family. I do know that after I turned it on for an evening, the next day my husband mentioned he had had such a wonderful sleep last night—very unusual for him. Did I put something in the apple pie besides cinnamon? Nope. The pie was my mother’s recipe. The 40hz light was the only thing new. I’m glad I bought one of these.

Beyond my expectations
BEACON40 goes beyond the stars! After researching the potential benefits, I decided upon BEACON40. It did not disappoint. I hoped that it would make a difference in the quality of my sleep, daily focus and performance.After a few weeks, I noticed that the quality of my sleep improved. After suffering from insomnia for years, I found myself falling asleep within minutes. I started experiencing a sound sleep without constantly waking up several times at night.I am a retiree and I care for my 8 month old grandchild during the day. I need to be on my toes! I am moving through the day with a lighter step and a smile on my face. With improved sleep, the quality of my waking hours is truly enhanced!I use BEACON40 in the evenings while at my computer as I learn a second language. I am working for longer periods of time and completing more language exercises! I love to travel abroad and I am looking forward to using my new language skills. It’s awesome! Bought the second one.
This light has been a game changer for my 87-year-old mom (and myself!). I bought this for my mom to help her with cognitive decline, with the intention to keep her beautiful brain from declining and to keep it as healthy as it can be. This light I feel has definitely helped in this process. I turn it on for her every morning when I give her her morning coffee and she loves it. She feels that her thoughts are bringing back memories from her past, her memory retention is stronger, and she has hope that we can keep her from declining. I loved it so much that I had to buy a second one for myself. I keep it at my desk and turn it on each morning for 3 hours as I work. I love the feature where you can dim the light and make it darker or brighter, which helps if you use it during the day or at night. There’s also a timer and I set it for 2 hours for my mom each day. For me I set it for 3 hours. I have definitely seen improvement in my focus and overall energy throughout the day. And at night I feel that I sleep deeper. This light is definitely increasing our focus, attention span, memory and helping with sleep. It’s awesome!

Returned after receiving it in a beat up box. The pieces were unorganized and there were no directions. Once plugged in and on they did not give off a good light. I do not recommend buying these.

Improved engineering
Unit is one piece, instead of a light and a console. One electrical outlet. My old set of two lights stopped working and the company has no answer for repair. No answers to my emails and no physical address for a letter. I had forgotten how expensive they were and had to think long and hard about giving the company another opportunity. I can only afford to replace the two lamp set with the one lamp. I would have paid to have my old units fixed.

No more brain fog
I had brain fog after Covid. I got a Beacon40 to help with that. The first thing I noticed is that I slept more soundly and, over time, I noticed that the brain fog lifted and I was better able to focus. I like that I’m doing some thing to help me in the present, but also benefit me in the future.

Disappointed
Read all the reviews and saw all the advertisements. Even studies the medical studies. All I can tell you is my husband got worse with this, slept worse and it gave me huge headaches and anxiety.People impied he may have a dementia issue and yet his symptoms are overlaps since the covid vaccine. Thus I was willing to try anything.Nope. Seriously amped him up, slept less and made his emotional state worse and more confused. Thus returning this. Failed to live up to the description.One positive , the device seems to be well made.
